Tehran (IP)- The Head of Iran’s Health Ministry's Transplantation Department said Iran is one of the aptly-named countries in the organ transplantation field to the extent that it is ranked first in the region and in some occasions has gained a worldwide reputation.

Iran PressIran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday over Iran's organ transplantation status, Mehdi Shadnoush said Shiraz center, south of Iran, has gained the first place in the world in liver transplantation.

Shadnoush highlighted Iran carries out usual and normal transplantations along with the world, noting even Iranians are the inventors of technics in the field that are applied by global transplantation centers. 

The Health Ministry official said in organ donation Iran has significantly improved in comparison to the last year.

Health Ministry's head of the Transplantation Department, Mehdi Shadnoush in had a meeting with UNICEF's envoy Gillas Chevalier on Tuesday, discussing the status of the Iranian children suffering EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa).

Shadnoush referred to the US sanction against Iran including medicine and medical equipment and highlighted that the Iranian noble and distinguished nation would not forget those who stand still beside them during tough and harsh conditions.
