Tehran (IP) - Head of Tehran’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Peyman Saberian holds presser on the latest measures taken to contain COVID-19.

Iran Press/Iran news: Head of Tehran’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Peyman Saberian said, "Pre-hospital emergency services, including heart attacks and strokes, trauma, and accidents continue, and with the addition of coronavirus disease, another burden has been placed on the EMS shoulders. As a result, we needed more training and more hard work in this regard.

About the number of emergency personnel in Tehran who infected with coronavirus, he said, "We had about 72 people with positive lung CT scans for COVID-19 at the Tehran’s Emergency Medical Services, although some people did not have a positive test however due to their pain and other symptoms, they were quarantined."

He added, "Unfortunately, one of the emergency personnel of Tehran who died was 48 years old and had 27 years of service experience.”

“There is no organization like Tehran’s Emergency Medical Services that are constantly in action. There is a good capacity, and if there is another wave of COVID-19, we will serve the people with all our might, and there will be no shortage. Even if we have another big wave like the previous time, we can provide the best services to our people,” he added.

Saberian noted, “It is a new disease and there is not much information about it in the whole world. From the beginning of the outbreak of coronavirus, the emergency research office monitored everything and sent the results to the Department of Education, and according to the latest available information, the training of personnel was carried out.”

He further stated that the daily emergency missions of Tehran reached up to 5000 cases and most of them were elderly and there were limited cases of children.

In response to a question about the latest situation of the head of the country's emergency medical services, who was infected with the coronavirus, he said, "Fortunately, Pirhossein Kolivand has passed the disease and is in better condition and will be at work soon.”
