Tehran (IP) - Herbal medicine specialist and the head of the Office of Persian Medicine in the Ministry of Health stated that traditional herbal medicines played a prominent role along with chemical ones for treating patients with COVID-19.

Iran Press/Iran news: In response to Iran Press correspondent asking about the effectiveness of herbal medicines to treat COVID-19 patients, Mohammad Reza Shams Ardekani said that Chinese medics highlighted that traditional herbal medicines can be effective with classic and modern medicine for treating patients of  COVID-19.

“Two herbal remedies are under test in Iran's labs on the patients,” he added.

Mohammad Reza Shams Ardekani stressed that the approving or rejecting result would be only declared by Iran’s Ministry of Health.

The official noted that regarding the herbal medicines which are under test yet,  without final result and official acceptance no name is allowed to be mentioned.  The components are too simple without complication and are rich in nature.
