Tehran (IP)- The Deputy Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education said that about 4,000 ICU beds in the country are allocated for Corona patients, all of which are full, but the emergency rooms and normal wards are deserted.

Iran PressIran News: Qasem Janbabaei on Tuesday in a press conference held via video conference in the Ministry of Health, added: "We now have better conditions, which have been significantly reduced due to the efforts of the healthcare staff and the cooperation of the people and the hospital emergencies have been deserted.

He stated, "50% of hospital beds have the empty capacity and this shows that people have complied. At the same time, the number of critically ill patients in the hospital has increased due to hospital care."

He added, "Along with the relative decrease in hospital visits, the discharge process is increasing, which is a good sign. With the closure of schools, universities, the market and the conditions created by the government for social distancing and the support of the people, we are moving towards containment, but we need time for full containment and any social behavior that hinders this restraint is not acceptable.

Janbabaei said, "We do not have the concern associated with European countries in hospitalized patients. In less than 40 days, about 300 ICU beds have been added, and the development of special sections has been on the agenda."

He added, "With the cooperation of donors and manufacturers, we do not have to worry about protective equipment for personnel. One of the places that is a source of pride in the presence of donors. In most hospitals, donors are stationed. Voluntary groups are also present in hospitals in the purchase of health and protective equipment."
