Tehran (IP) - President of IRGC's Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences announced the start of the medical project on developing Coronavirus Vaccine in this University by Iranian specialists.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the Press conference to discuss the latest updates on Coronavirus outbreak, the Head of IRGC's Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, Brigadier General Alireza Jalali said that Baqiyatallah University focused the research on virus behavior that was the latest scientific material to be observed.

He explained further that Baqiyatallah University also focused on developing the Coronavirus vaccine, which is a complex and complicated process.

"Various countries are looking to develop a vaccine, and the university has started a project and the specialists are working on it seriously", He added.

"We anticipate developing a corona vaccine in less than a year with a new method based on the human genome", added Jalali.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Jalali said that the discovery of the corona medicine has also begun. "Several groups are working in this field and three projects are being implemented. Even one of the drugs has been effective at the lab level and they hope to test it on patients soon."

Iran's top IRGC official also said that with the 10-day period after the COVID-19 breakout, Iranian physicians are mastering and managing the virus.

Jalali went on to say that, Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences had been involved with monitoring Corona updates in China as well as following the issue related to crisis management there so that their experiences could be used.

Head of IRGC's Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences said at the news conference on Sunday that the Iranian doctors are mastering and managing the Coronavirus outbreak.

He further said that the hard days are passing by and the whole health system of Iran has been involved with COVID-19.

Jalali emphasized that COVID-19 is under Iranian physician's close watch.

On the same day, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ deputy commander for Health, Rescue, Treatment, and Medical Education, Brigadier General Ahmad Abdollahi in this conference said that hospitals and healthcare centers are under supervision of IRGC will be allocated to Coronavirus patients.

He underlined IRGC readiness to provide medical treatment for Coronavirus patients and said that this organization is fully ready to combat the Coronavirus outbreak in the country.

On Sunday, Iranian Health Ministry Spokesman said that in the past 24 hours 385 new cases of Coronavirus infection diagnosed

He said that 11 more people died because of the Coronavirus in the same period

Given the latest figures of the Health Ministry, the total number of people diagnosed with the Coronavirus has been reached 978 people, out of whom 54 people died.
