Tehran(IP): Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar said that the eleventh and twelfth governments have made great efforts to achieve gender equality in Iranian society and have plans in place.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at a summit on the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of Fatemeh Zahra(PBUH) at the Summit of Iranian Women, Masoumeh Ebtekar added that the government has not looked at Iranian women as" second class "citizens and in policymaking for women, it has always acted according to Holy Prophet's practices, not foreign documents.

"After the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, women have always worked alongside men in different social arenas, they serve as the source of inspiring hope and life for their families and children, also they are as the best representatives of excellent scientific and spiritual ethics that undoubtedly will be considered as World role model in enhancing the capabilities of women." highlighted Ebtekar.

Iran's Vice President said: "For the first time in the country, female-centered family-friendly policies have been developed that promote Iranian family communication skills and strengths the foundation of the families."

"Social mobilization and the use of comprehensive capacities to achieve gender equality contribute to better families' lives, and women are at the core of these social assets," concluded Ebtekar.

The "Iranian Women" Summit held on Saturday 15 February to mark the auspicious occasion of Fatima Zahra's birth anniversary and Women's Day with  President Hassan Rouhani in attendance.
