Tehran (IP)- Islamic Era Museum of Iran which was opened in 1996, introduces artistic objects belonging to the Islamic era, beginning from the 7th century AD and right through to the contemporary era.

Iran Press/Iran news: Next door to the National Museum, and part of the same complex,  Islamic Era Museum of Iran museum offers a stunning collection of arts and antiquities from throughout the Islamic period, including calligraphy, carpets, ceramics, woodcarving, sculpture, miniatures, brickwork, and textiles. The collection includes silks and stucco-work from Rey, portraits from the Mongol period, a collection of Sassanian coins, and gorgeous 14th-century wooden doors and windows.

There are three floors in this building. The ground floor has been designed to hold conferences and temporary exhibitions. The museum itself starts on the first floor. The objects have been arranged chronologically representing various historical eras in the post-Islam period.
