War with Iran would impact the entire world: Shinzo Abe warns

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has warned that military confrontation with Iran will impact global peace and stability.

Iran Press/Iran News: The comments came at the start of Abe’s five-day Persian Gulf tour as he hopes to ease tensions spiked by the US assassination of Late IRGC Quds Force Commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani.

The Japanese PM called “on all relevant countries to engage in diplomatic efforts to defuse tensions,” AFP reported.

The prime minister’s tour includes visits to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met Saudi Arabia’s king and crown prince on Sunday, to discuss the situation in the region, during the first leg of his Middle East tour.

Masato Ohtaka, Japan’s foreign ministry director-general for press and public diplomacy after Abe meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in AlUla said: "Japan’s mediation role with Iran is extremely delicate. I hesitate to go into too much detail on this. We don’t necessarily characterize our efforts as mediation." He underscored, however, that Japan is the only country in Asia that has been engaging on this issue.
