British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and Queen Elizabeth II

More than 5 Iranian university professors and higher education institutions have strongly criticized the prorogation of the House of Commons and the suspension of democracy in Britain.

Iran Press/Iran news: More than 5 university professors and higher education and research institutes of the Islamic Republic of Iran have written an open letter to professors and universities in the United Kingdom. The letter has been translated into eight different languages ??including English, Arabic, Urdu, French and Italian.

In the letter, they strongly criticized the suspension of Parliament in Britain, and the silencing of British MPs, Iran Press reported.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson prorogued the House of Commons at the end of August. The move took effect amid chaotic scenes in the UK, and the British parliament won't open again until 14 October.

When Parliament is suspended, no debates and votes take place. This is different from dissolving Parliament - where all MPs give up their seats to campaign in a general election.101/211/216
