The Iranian President is attending a vote of confidence in the Majlis (parliament) personally to lend support to his ministerial picks, Ali Asghar Mounesan, and Mohsen Mirzaei.

Iran Press/Iran news: The open session of Iran's parliament (Majlis) was held on Tuesday morning, chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani.

The session was attended by Iran President Hassan Rouhani, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohamad Javad Azari Jahromi, Oil Minister, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Reza Rahmani, First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, and  Vice President for Legal Affairs, Laya Joneydi.

President Rouhani's two handpicked ministerial nominees, Ali Asghar Mounesan for the new post of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Minister, and Mohsen Haji Mirzaei for the post of Minister of Education is going to seek a vote of confidence from the Majlis.

President Rouhani urged all lawmakers to give a vote of confidence to his two nominees, arguing they are well-qualified and well-suited for the posts they have been nominated for.
