Iran's First Vice President has emphasized that Tehran is determined to expand relations across the board with Beijing, increasing trade with China in all areas.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking on Monday in a meeting with Sung Tao, the head of the Chinese Communist Party's International Relations minister, Es'haq Jahangiri emphasised the very close points of view of Tehran and Beijing on a host of issues, and referred to the excellent commercial, economic, political and security ties between Iran and China, saying senior officials on both sides are determined to continue the strategic relations between the two countries.

Jahangiri stressed that Iran's reduction of its commitments toward the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an attempt to save the agreement.

Jahangiri said: "Just as Iran has honoured its commitments within JCPOA, all the other signatories must do the same and honour their commitments. If they do so, then Iran will immediately reverse its decision and cancel the steps that it has taken."

Elsewhere in his remarks, First Vice President, Es'haq Jahangiri said: "China is our principal economic partner, and a major customer of Iranian oil. The Americans think they can reduce Iran's oil exports to zero, by putting pressure on all those countries which purchase Iranian oil. They think this way our economy will collapse, but fortunately more than a year since US re-imposed sanctions on Iran, our oil exports have not been reduced to zero, and our economy is stable."

Jahangiri went on to express hope that meetings between officials of the two countries and exchange of delegations will boost further development of ties between Tehran and Beijing.
