The scholars of the Islam world have emphasized the necessity for the continuing support of the resistance to liberate Palestine.

Iran Press/Iran news: At a meeting of the World Union of Resistance Scholars in Tehran, the scholars of the Islamic world have emphasized the necessity of continuing support of the resistance to liberate Palestine.

They also provided solutions and suggestions for strengthening Palestinian resistance and freedom.

At the meeting, participants commemorated and honored the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky.

Zakzaky has been imprisoned at an unknown location without charge since he was detained by security forces in 2015 after the Nigerian army carried out a raid on his residence in the northern town of Zaria during which he lost his left eyesight, then made his first public appearance in January.

The scholars of the Islam world also condemned the Saudi invasion to Yemen and called for the protection of Yemenis.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates and several other countries, has engaged in military aggression, ground sieges, naval and air strikes against Yemen since March 2015. The war initiated by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has killed more than 14,000 Yemeni people, injured tens of thousands and displaced millions of Yemenis.

Nearly 14,000 Yemenis, including 5,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign since March 2015.

The meeting of the World Union of Resistance Scholars was held on the closing day of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference.

The conference opened in the Iran capital, Tehran on Saturday.
