Iran Press/Iran news: In recent decades, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a groundbreaking and transformative technology, finding extensive applications across various fields. From enhancing production processes and optimizing business operations to facilitating complex decision-making, AI continues to reshape industries. It also plays a crucial role in developing data-driven products, identifying intricate patterns, analyzing medical data, and improving healthcare services. AI has become a technological frontrunner in the modern world, offering intelligent and automated solutions.
Sadegh Khani Ali Akbari, the Chair of Iran's AI Specialized Council, highlighted AI's transformative potential during the event.“Today, AI is shaping the future of humanity, revolutionizing lifestyles, education, and business,” he stated.
Akbari emphasized that while AI's applications in healthcare are significant, the primary focus of Iran’s National AI Strategy is on education. “We must identify and harness AI’s capabilities. Although Iran ranks 17th globally in AI research, its practical implementation is ranked around 90th, indicating a lack of adequate infrastructure,” he explained.
Akbari also stressed the importance of integrating AI into economic and healthcare frameworks. “Foresight is the central challenge in AI, necessitating investment in the health sector. Additionally, we must recognize AI’s potential in medical education,” he noted.
The festival concluded with the recognition of top researchers in clinical and basic sciences across three categories: professors, associate professors, and assistant professors. The honorees were selected based on their exceptional research contributions, as recorded in scientometric systems.
This year’s festival not only celebrated the achievements of Iranian researchers but also underscored the transformative role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of research and society.
