Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasised: "We are pursuing a special flight for the Iranians to leave Ukraine."

Iran PressIran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said today (Thursday): "From the very beginning of the tensions in Ukraine, an office for crisis management was formed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

Khatibzadeh added: "By issuing two announcements, we warned Iranian citizens to stay away from critical points, and there is a 24-hour line in Iran and the embassy."

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said: "We are in contact with both sides of the conflict and we emphasized that the security of our Iranian compatriots is a priority."

"Due to the situation in Ukraine in the last 10 days, no country has been able to evacuate its citizens by air," Khatibzadeh said.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to obtain a permit for a special flight for Iranians to leave Ukraine."

Khatibzadeh added: "Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is personally following the situation of Iranians in Ukraine."

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir- Abdollahian, in a telephone call with the Iranian Ambassador to Kyiv Manouchehr Moradi, made the necessary recommendations regarding Iranians living in Ukraine, especially Iranian students studying in Ukraine, and considered the need to provide 24-hour embassy services to the compatriots as important.

Amir- Abdollahian also informed the Iranian ambassador to Ukraine about the necessary facilities in the field of student exit stamps for students studying in Ukraine, regardless of the existing instructions and due to the emergency situation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday morning ordered the launch of a special military operation to protect the Donbas region.

Putin warned that the Ukrainian government would be responsible for any possible bloodshed.

Russian military operations have begun in various parts of Ukraine, and the Russian Defense Ministry has stated that only Ukrainian military infrastructure and military airports will be targeted and that Russian cities will not be bombed.
