Iran Press/ Iran News: In a telephone conversation initiated by the Finnish side, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Pekka Olavi Haavisto discussed bilateral ties, the Iran nuclear deal 2015 known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as well as the Ukraine crisis, and the ceasefire in Yemen.
Referring to the recent visit of the Finnish Foreign Minister to Tehran and the agreements between the two countries, Amir-Abdollahian announced Tehran is ready to further expand the path of bilateral cooperation.
Amir-Abdollahian criticized the US indecision and pointed to the seriousness of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing Tehran's will to reach a good, strong, and lasting agreement.
He stressed Iran's support for the continuation of the ceasefire in Yemen, saying that the siege of Yemen should be lifted and the Yemeni crisis should be resolved within the framework of the intra-Yemeni dialogue.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, he said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran opposes the war and calls on both sides of the conflict in Kyiv and Moscow to dialogue and end the war, and considers the solution in diplomacy and dialogue."
For his part, the Finnish Foreign Minister commemorated the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, calling the relations between Iran and Finland important.
The Finnish Foreign Minister expressed hope that a good agreement would be reached in the Vienna talks.
He also stressed the need to develop and expand cooperation between Tehran and Helsinki.
Haavisto also expressed hope that the Russian-Ukrainian talks, with the help of various countries, including Iran, would help resolve the crisis peacefully.
