Tehran(IP): Iran's Foreign Minister in a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister expressed regret over the veto of the ceasefire resolution in Gaza by the United States on Monday night.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed some issues on bilateral and regional relations, including the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.

In this telephone conversation, referring to the recent meeting of the presidents of Iran and Russia in Moscow and reviewing the issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, Iran's top diplomat emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and contacts between high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

Amir- Abdollahian also expressed regret over the US veto of the United Nations Security Council resolution on the issue of stopping the military attacks and crimes of the Israeli regime against civilians in Gaza, and assessed this action as giving permission to continue the genocide of the residents of Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian urgently recalled the need to take action to stop the war crimes and sending more humanitarian aid to the Gaza strip.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia also evaluated the recent meetings and talks between Raisi and Putin as very important.

Expressing his satisfaction with the process of bilateral cooperation, in the context of the current developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, Sergey Lavrov emphasized the need to continue international efforts in order to achieve a ceasefire, while increasing the sending of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, and the formation of an independent Palestinian state.

The Ministry of Health of Gaza announced in a statement on Monday that the number of martyrs in Gaza reached 18,205 during the 66 days of aggression by the Zionist regime.

Meanwhile, last Friday, a resolution was voted in the UN Security Council for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, which was vetoed due to the opposition of the United States as a permanent member of the Security Council. 219
