Iran's Oil Minister:

TEHRAN (IP) - Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Javad Owji in a joint press conference with Iran's Government's spokesman on Saturday said that Iran currently exports crude oil to 15 countries worldwide.

Iran PressIran news: Owji also highlighted the significant progress made in the country's petrochemical sector, stating that five petrochemical complexes are due to come on stream over the next few days.

"This will increase total petrochemical production capacity by 10 million tons per year from the current level of 90 million tons to 100 million tons annually, Owji said.

The Iranian Oil Minister emphasized that the total volume of collecting associated gases has reached 11.5 million cubic meters per day over the past three years and will hit a new record soon by collecting an additional 4.5 million cubic meters of associated gases per day.

He noted that the current government has been able to attract 5 billion dollars of private sector investments in the West and East of the 'Karoun' region to accelerate the collection of associated gases, with the figure expected to rise to 30 million cubic meters per day at the end of the current Iranian calendar year on March 19, 2025.

Owji also highlighted Iran's natural gas production, stating that despite cruel sanctions, the country has been able to raise its natural gas production over the recent years by 5.2 percent annually, more than twice the global average of 2.5 percent.

The minister also discussed the country's gasoline and gasoil production, stating that during the Late Martyred President Raisi's administration in office, gasoline production rose from 96 million liters per day to 114 million liters per day.

Regarding some presidential candidates' statements on applying discounts in selling oil to other countries, Owji said that over the past three years, the discount amount has been far less than those applied from 2013 to 2021.

The Petroleum Minister added that the government has taken new initiatives including using trans-territorial oil refining capacities, which has facilitated oil sales.

He rejected any high discounts in oil sales.

Owji concluded that the late President Raisi has built new tracks for the way of selling oil so that the next administrations will be able to sell oil easily and no one could stand in the way of oil exports.
