Iran (IP) - The first cargo of cement was sent to the markets of the Caspian Sea littoral countries through the railway-marine route in northern Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The first export shipment of Iranian cement was sent from the Caspian port to the Caspian Sea littoral countries by the wagons of Iran's combined shipping company.

With the export cargo of cement being transited, the railway line of Rasht-Caspian port was fully operationalized and reached the sea for the first time through the port.

It is supposed that after the opening of the Rasht-Caspian port railway Iran can annually export 400,000 tons of domestically produced cement to the Central Asian countries.

Rasht-Caspian port railway, northern Iran, is the last part of the sea-to-sea rail corridor in Iran which connects the Iranian southern ports to its northern ports and paves the way for the hybrid exchange of cargoes through Iran to the region.
