Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei strongly condemned Israel's aggressive airstrikes on residential areas in Damascus, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Syrian and Palestinian civilians and caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads and bridges connecting Syria and Lebanon.  

Iran PressIran news:  Expressing condolences to the Syrian government, its people, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, and the families of the victims, Baghaei wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He emphasized that Israel's escalating violations of Syrian sovereignty constitute blatant aggression under the United Nations Charter, necessitating urgent action by the UN Security Council to halt the attacks and hold Israel accountable.  

Baghaei  warned of the grave consequences of continued Israeli assaults on civilian infrastructure and indiscriminate killings of innocent people, including women and children. He described these acts as gross violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes under the Geneva Conventions of 1949, urging all states to act to stop such violations and pursue criminal accountability for those responsible.  

The spokesperson also criticized arms suppliers to Israel, holding them complicit in the regime’s crimes. He highlighted the broader perception in the region and the Islamic world of the United States as Israel's primary political and military supporter, branding Washington a partner in these atrocities.
