Iran Press/Iran News: On the sidelines of the Joint Iran-China-Russia Naval drill press conference, Sayyari in an exclusive interview with Iran Press stated that the Iranian Navy's ships, vessels, and equipment were entirely Western-made before the Islamic revolution but due to the efforts of Iranian universities, scientists and engineers, today the Iranian Navy's warships, submarines and equipment are all made in Iran.
The Coordinating Deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army added: "A destroyer carries literally hundreds of systems, we have replaced them with Iranian-made products from its engine to its radar system and its weaponry and this shows the advancement and progress which Iran has made in defense industries, science, and technology in Iran."
The official by reiterating the lack of Iranian made submarines even after the revolution and till the end of Iran-Iraq war added: "Today we manufacture, repair and service submarines which indicated a great leap in technology, this is no easy task. Repairing and manufacturing submarines is a hi-tech business that requires sophisticated technology."
Referring to the presence of China and Russia in the Joint Iran-Russia-China naval drills Habibollah Sayyari added: "They know that both subsurface and above-surface equipment are all produced in Iran and thank God, we have attained a good level of technology in this field." 101/211/207
