Iran Press/ Iran news: In this phone call, Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized that the root of the Palestinian crisis lies not in the events of October 7 but in the 75 years of Israeli occupation, its continuous violation of the fundamental rights of Palestinians, war crimes in Palestine, and the genocide of this oppressed nation, with clear British involvement in these issues.
Amir-Abdollahian condemned the silence of some Western governments regarding the Zionist regime's crimes against the innocent people of Palestine in the past 80 days, resulting in the deaths of over 21,000 civilians in Gaza.
He stated that Iran views Hamas as a liberation movement against occupation, akin to the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa.
Iranian Foreign Minister, expressing disdain for the double standards employed by the U.S. and some Western countries regarding Gaza and Ukraine, stated: "We cannot allow the Israeli regime to commit mass murders of women and children in Gaza and engage in ethnic cleansing while worrying about risking the security of economic lifelines in the Red Sea by halting a Zionist ship."
He affirmed that any adventurous moves or aggressions by the Israeli regime would receive a strong and regrettable response.
The UK Foreign Secretary, while discussing his country's positions on Palestinian developments and the Red Sea, called for efforts to prevent the escalation of war in the region and ensure maritime security.
Moreover, both foreign ministers discussed bilateral issues of interest in this phone conversation, highlighting the importance of ongoing negotiations between the authorities of the two countries to exchange views on mutual concerns.
