The joint chief of staff of Iran's armed forces has urged the Pakistani military to take swift and decisive action to arrest the terrorists who attacked and kidnapped a number of Iranian border guards.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a telephone conversation with Pakistani army's chief of staff,  General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the joint chief of staff of Iran's armed forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri  said, based on bilateral agreements, security must be ensured along the common border between Iran and Pakistan. Thus we expect that Pakistan to take urgent steps to combat terrorism, and to secure the quick release of the abducted border guards.

According to Iran Press, pointing out that the incident happened about 50 kilometers from the town of MirJaveh in Balouchestan of southeastern Iran, Major General Bagheri emphasized on arresting the terrorists behind the kidnapping.

While regretting this incident, the top Pakistani General, Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed hope that the Pakistani security forces' actions will lead to immediate release of the kidnapped border guards.

14 Iranian security personnel including Revolutionary Guards were kidnapped on the border with Pakistan last Tuesday. The incident happened about 50 kilometers from the town of MirJaveh in Balouchestan of southeastern Iran, very close to the border with Pakistan.

Jeish al-Adl terrorist group, which is based in Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the abductions.

Meanwhile, the top commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari warned the kidnappers of 'a crushing response'.
