Iran Press/Iran News: Following the military conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif spoke by telephone with his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts on Sunday night.
In a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and also with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, Zarif discussed the latest situation and expressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic to use all its capabilities to help ceasefire and peace.
Military clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh region resumed on Sunday morning.
The two countries' dispute over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 2009 and led to a military conflict in 2012.
On Sunday, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh called for an immediate cessation of clashes and hostilities and the start of talks between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Also, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in his latest tweet released on Sunday said that Iran is ready to provide good offices to enable talks between Baku and Yerevan.
