Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran’s Culture Minister Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili said that the visit of the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan to Iran is regarded as opening a new chapter in developing joint historical, cultural and civilizational relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The two sides stressed their interest in carrying out joint activities in various fields of culture, art, cinema, visual arts, poetry and literature, he said.
Iranian Minister added: "The relationship between Iran and Azerbaijan is more than a neighborly relationship and we are relatives; so, we will put aside anything that hinders developing relations because there are common cultural commonalities and historical events between the two countries."
Esmaili added that both sides agreed on joint cultural programs such as book fairs, film festivals and the production of films about celebrities and other issues that will affect promoting historical relations.
Referring to the visit of the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan to Tehran, he said: "This trip will be the beginning of a new chapter in the joint historical and civilizational relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, and in the near future we will expand these relations in a joint cultural memorandum."
Meanwhile, Karimov said that given the good relations between the two countries, it is hoped that a new chapter in cultural interactions between Iran and Azerbaijan will be opened.
The two neighbors also believe that the relations between the two countries go beyond friendship and neighborliness and can expand even more than before.
There are various capacities in the two countries that can pave the way for developing cultural relations, such as holding book fairs, cultural weeks, film weeks and preserving joint historical monuments.
