IP - The meeting of the youth association of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in China with the presence of 30 representatives of the youth of 12 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressAsia: According to Iran press news agency, a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by "Hamed Alamati", the Deputy Minister of Education of Iran, participated in this meeting.

In this meeting, Alamati said: "The self-reliance of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the maximum use of regional capacities can create a new chapter for the youth of our countries."

The Deputy Minister of Education of Iran also considered the strengthening of cooperation between SCO member states and the revival of the Silk Road as an opportunity to deepen friendships and create sustainable movements in the field of youth development.

In this meeting, Iranian youth also expressed solutions for developing relations with the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The youth summit of the member and observer countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization started in 2016, and this year the seventh summit was held on the topic of cultural exchanges.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international intergovernmental organization that was established on June 15, 2001 in Shanghai by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The Islamic Republic of Iran officially became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at the 21st meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

This organization currently consists of 9 members including China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Afghanistan, Mongolia and Belarus are the supervising members of this organization.
