Tehran (IP) - In a meeting with Iranian officials, the Iranian Minister of Energy and the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia stressed expanding bilateral relations between Tehran and Yerevan.

Iran PressAsia: The High-Level delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Iran and Armenia, arrived in Yerevan on Wednesday evening with a warm welcome from Mher Grigoryan, Chairman of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation and Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.

Iranian Minister of Energy Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, in a meeting attended by a large number of deputy ministers, senior officials, ambassadors, and members of parliament of the two countries exchanged views on critical issues that play a vital role in the development of relations between the two countries.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting were transit, transportation, the facilitation of trade and commerce between the two countries, and broader energy cooperation.

Mehrabian and Grigoryan stated that holding the 17th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and Armenia was the natural development of relations between the two countries and stressed their seriousness in implementing the essential resolutions and issues considered by the two countries.

It was also decided at this meeting that the Minister of Infrastructure and Land Management of Armenia will travel to Iran next week with the Deputy Minister of Energy to follow up on the energy sector issues.
