St. Petersburg (IP) - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian, met with the Secretary General of the National Defense Council of Venezuela on the sidelines of the 14th Meeting of BRICS High-Ranking Officials responsible for security matters.

Iran Press/Europe: On Thursday, on the third day of his trip to Russia, Ali Akbar Ahmadian also discussed with Jose Adelino Ornelas Ferreira the Secretary General of the National Defense Council of Venezuela about ways to increase bilateral relations in the fields of economic cooperation, energy, technical affairs, science and technology as well as convergence in the international arena to ensure peace and security.

In this meeting, the Secretary General of the National Defense Council of Venezuela also announced the readiness of Caracas to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Tehran in the new government of Iran.

 

Iran, Turkey Security Officials Confer on Bilateral, Multilateral Issues

 

Also, the secretaries of the National Security Council of Iran and Turkey consulted on bilateral issues and the most important regional and international developments on the sidelines of the BRICS meeting.

In this meeting, the parties, referring to the historical and long relations between Iran and Turkey, called for the strengthening of bilateral relations in the political, security, economic, and commercial fields between Tehran and Ankara.

The parties also emphasized the development of bilateral economic and trade relations to reach the level of 30 billion dollars.

The deputy secretaries of the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey called cooperation in West Asian issues necessary and emphasized cooperation to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine and especially in the Gaza Strip.
