IP - The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the president of the United Arab Emirates held a brief meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, discussing bilateral and regional issues.

Iran Press/Europe: Masoud Pezeshkian and Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, met on Wednesday, Oct. 23 on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. They discussed bilateral and regional issues, including the necessity of halting Israeli regime attacks.

In addition to this meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a separate discussion.

According to Araghchi, the primary topic of discussion between the officials of the two countries was the necessity of halting Israeli regime attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, a matter on which both nations share a common stance.

The Foreign Minister also explained that during these meetings, some disagreements between the two countries were discussed. He emphasized that naturally, we will not miss any opportunity to clearly explain and resolutely defend the positions and interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly regarding the issue of the three Iranian islands.

The 16th BRICS Summit commenced on Wednesday, Oct. 23 with the attendance of member country leaders in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia.

Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security has been declared the main theme of the BRICS Summit.
