Tehran (IP) – Iran and Syria have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral defense and security cooperation as part of their joint efforts to combat terrorism and promote stability in the region. The pledge was made during a meeting on Sunday between Iran’s Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Major General Kafa Melhem, Secretary of Syria’s Supreme National Security Council.

Iran Press/Iran news: The discussions highlighted the importance of deepening collaboration across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on defense and security. Both sides stressed the need for continued efforts to root out terrorism and enhance peace and stability in West Asia.

Brigadier General Nasirzadeh emphasized Iran’s strategic support for Syria, reaffirming Tehran’s dedication to supporting the Axis of Resistance and strengthening Syria’s sovereignty and security.  

Major General Melhem praised the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his steadfast support of the Resistance, calling it a beacon of hope and resilience for the people of the region.
