Tehran (IP) - Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs in a phone conversation with their Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, consulted the latest development in the region and the Iranian FM emphasized Iran's legitimate right of self-defense.

Iran Press/West Asia: On a Sunday night phone conversation with Egyptian FM, Badr Abdelatty, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Iran's stance on Israeli crimes, and adventurous actions, which expanded the scope of war to the entire region.

Araghchi said that disruption of the peace, stability, and security of the region is the consequence of Zionist regime actions.

Araghchi emphasized Iran's legal right to respond to any aggression to its security and territorial integrity within the framework of the right of legitimate defense.

According to a statement from the Egyptian foreign ministry, Badr Abdelatty stressed to Araghchi that Egypt is urging the international community to unite its efforts to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and address the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the strip.

It is the second phone conversation between Iranian and Egyptian senior diplomats this week.

Regarding Lebanon, Egypt’s top diplomat reaffirmed the need to empower the Lebanese national institutions and elect a president for the country within the framework of Lebanese ownership and without foreign interference.

On the situation in Gaza, Abdelatty reviewed the latest efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and ensure full and unconditional access to humanitarian and medical aid to Gazans.
