Tehran (IP) – Iran AirTour, a prominent Iranian airline, has announced plans to initiate direct flights between Tehran and Paris starting February 1, marking a significant development in the country's aviation sector amidst ongoing European Union sanctions on Iranian carriers.

Iran PressIran news: Reza Mousavi, CEO of Iran AirTour, told the Iranian media that the new route would offer tickets priced at rates comparable to those of Iran Air, the country’s flagship carrier. The airline has allocated eight wide-body Airbus aircraft for its European operations, aiming to provide a seamless travel experience for passengers.

Mousavi also expressed optimism about expanding the airline’s reach to Germany, Spain, and Italy within the coming months, further strengthening Iran’s connectivity to Europe.

This announcement comes three months after the European Union imposed sanctions on three Iranian airlines—Iran Air, Mahan Air, and Saha Airlines—claiming safety and geopolitical concerns. These sanctions led to the suspension of Iran Air's flights to EU destinations, significantly curtailing the country’s access to European skies.
