Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Interior Minister said he will meet the Iraqi counterpart to visit joint borders and consult to solve issues for the upcoming Arbaeen March.

Iran PressIran news: Ahmad Vahidi, Iranian Interior Minister at the sideline of the cabinet meeting on Wednesday told reporters that on Thursday or Friday, he will meet the Iraqi interior minister and they will have a joint visit to Iran-Iraq borders.

This meeting aims to consult for solving issues of upcoming Arbaeen March 2024.

Arbaeen marks forty days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (a.s.), third Imam of Shias and his companion in the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram 61 AH (680 CE) against the army of the tyrant Umayyad caliph Yazid ibn Mu'awiya.

Vahidi said that Iranian pilgrims with a valid passport or pilgrim passport can attend in Arbaeen March.

Vahidi also said that the ceremony for President-elect swearing ceremony will be held in the legal 50-day time and possibly will be held sooner than the 5th of August in the Islamic Republic of Iran Parliament.
