Iran Press/Africa: During the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Summit on Thursday evening, December 19, 2024, Masoud Pezeshkian met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. He thanked Egypt for hosting the Summit so well and highlighted the significance of sharing resources and expertise among Islamic nations, both regionally and internationally, within frameworks like the D-8 and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The president stressed the crucial need for unity and cohesion among Islamic countries. He noted that every Islamic nation must contribute to fostering interaction and dialogue within the Islamic world and work to overcome existing differences. These differences, he noted, pave the way for foreign intervention.
Pezeshkian also underscored the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and continuing dialogue between the two countries.
In this meeting, Al-Sisi remarked that the region faces significant threats due to recent events in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. He described the recent Israeli attacks in Syria as unprecedented and noted that Egypt's stance on developments in Syria is to support the formation of an inclusive government in the country.
