Iranian foreign minister in a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, on Thursday night, discussed bilateral relations and developments in the region focusing on the Gaza war.

In this conversation, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Hassan Shoukry paid attention to recent developments in bilateral relations, including the talks between the presidents of the two countries in Riyadh and their recent phone call. The two sides also agreed to continue calls and meetings in the future.

In a part of this conversation, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, referring to the escalation of tensions in the West Asian region, stressed that the root of the crisis is the continuation of the war against Gaza, and the crimes of the Zionist regime against Palestinians. 

Regarding the Gaza crisis, Iran's top diplomat said: "All countries should focus on the immediate cessation of war and crimes against Gaza and on a political solution to solve the crisis in Gaza and the West Bank."

In this telephone conversation, the latest development in the Red Sea was among the topics discussed by the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt.

In the end, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic and Egypt emphasized the importance of the collective efforts on the part of the countries in the region to maintain stability and peace and considered the cessation of the war against Gaza as the key to establishing peace and stability in the entire region. 219
