Iran Press/ Asia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stressed, "Tehran is ready to fully implement and finalize this project," referring to the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline, also known as the Peace pipeline or IP Gas.
"Tehran believes that the completion of this project is in line with the interests of the two countries of Iran and Pakistan," said Amir-Abdollahian.
Iran's top diplomat added, "Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari had important negotiations with his counterparts in Islamabad, which led to the signing of new documents."
Iran’s Foreign Minister said the two sides had discussed monetary and banking problems between the two countries and the ways to solve the problem according to international law.
He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan target a $5 billion bilateral trade volume
Referring to Afghanistan issues, Amir-Abdollahian said that any developments in Afghanistan would affect the neighbors, especially Iran and Pakistan, adding, "Tehran considers regional initiatives as the best way to resolve the issue of Afghanistan, and emphasizes supporting the people of Afghanistan as a humanitarian and religious duty."
Regarding the Ukraine crisis, he said, "Tehran believes that war is not a solution to the crisis in Ukraine, and considers further arming of Ukraine by the US and Western countries as worrying."
For his part, Zardari said that an example of the progress of relations between Iran and Pakistan could be the opening of the Pishin-Mand border crossing market between the two neighbors and the project to transfer electricity from Iran to Pakistan.
He pointed out that the mentioned projects show the collective commitment of the two countries to find solutions for the benefit of both countries and the first step is the development of multi-dimensional relations, especially economic ties between the two countries.
Zardari stated that schools, hospitals, and many other places are lit in Quetta thanks to Iran's electricity supply.
