Tehran(IP) - The Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran said the investigation of the Azerbaijan Republic Embassy attack is underway.

Iran PressIran News: In the armed attack of a person on the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran on Friday, January 27, 2023, one security guard of the embassy was killed and two other guards were injured.

According to the Iran Press News Agency, Iran's Prosecutor General, Mohammad Jaafar Montazeri in a phone call with Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev on Tuesday said: "From the very beginning of the  attack the investigation and follow-up of the issue is on the agenda, and through diplomacy and with the approach of interaction and bilateral cooperation, the cases are progressing step by step."

Montazeri stated that the various details and aspects of this attack have been investigated and followed up by the judicial and political authorities of the country, adding: "Various aspects of the case has been investigated and the case has progressed."

The Prosecutor General of Iran also emphasized the continuity and interaction of judicial cooperation between the two friendly and neighboring countries and expressed hope that, as in the past, judicial and political understanding and cooperation will lead to the development of a deep bond between the two nations.

"Kamran Aliyev", the Prosecutor  General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, also appreciated the follow-up and diplomatic and judicial efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He emphasized the continuance of cooperation and said: "We should not allow incidents like the recent one to cause the loss of opportunities for cooperation and bilateral interactions between the two neighborly and friendly countries."
