Tehran (IP) - The 2025 International Quds Day march, themed "We're on Our Covenant, O Quds", commenced on March 28 in Tehran, the Iranian capital, and other parts of the country, drawing widespread participation.

Why it matters:

International Quds Day symbolizes Islamic awakening and the quest for justice. The day reminds us that human rights and justice must be upheld everywhere, and silence in the face of oppression equates to complicity. Given the deaths of over 50,000 Palestinians, including women and children, this day has gained even greater significance.

The big picture:

People from all walks of life, while fasting, have taken to the streets to mark the late Imam Khomeini's legacy and show their steadfastness in the fight against the U.S.-backed Israeli regime's expansionism in West Asia. They are chanting slogans in support of Palestine and its liberation and against Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestine.

Key points:

  • Quds Day march symbolizes the unity and strength of the Iranian people and their steadfast support for Palestine.
  • Quds Day march is more important this year than in previous years, as it provides an opportunity to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Go deeper:

This day is not only an opportunity to express outrage at the crimes of the Israeli regime but also a reminder that freedom and justice are the rights of all human beings.
