Iran Press/Iran news: The second conference of the parliament speakers of six regional countries for fighting terrorism, began with a keynote speeches by Iranian president Hassan Rouhani and Iranian parliament speaker, Ali larijani.
According to Iran Press, President Hassan Rouhani hit out at US “economic terrorism” against Iran and said, US economic terrorism is specifically evident after its withdrawal from a multilateral nuclear deal with Iran and its decision to reimpose sanctions on the country.
Rouhani said, "We are facing an all-out assault which is not only threatening our independence and identity but also is bent on breaking our longstanding ties."
Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani also deplored US President Donald Trump’s unilateralism and approach to terrorism and said his behavior has also seriously undermined human rights systems in the world.
Larijani also expressed hope that the ongoing conference on counter-terrorism in Tehran would play an active role in promoting security in the region.
Confronting terrorism, reviewing past experiences, studying current strategies and deciding to adopt new and effective regional approaches, expanding communication and strengthening regional cooperation, achieving peace and sustainable development in the region will be on the agenda of the Tehran conference. 101/ 211 /201
