Accra (IP) - Palestinian and Iranian ambassadors to Ghana attended the international Quds Day here in the capital city of Accra.

Iran PressAfrica: The ceremony which was held as a call for Palestine’s freedom is themed, "The issue of Palestine is the collective personality of humanity."

The representative from the office of the national chief Imam of Ghana Alhaji Marzuq Muhammed emphasized that Al Quds is a holy place, however, some people have reduced this holy site to a scene of the zionist movement. 

"The Palestine issue is not just a religious issues; it is an organization of religion, diplomacy, international relations, sociology, psychology, human rights and democracy and its for these reasons that all of us must come together to understand that it is a human issue and human beings must be given the opportunity to provide a solution."

He further stated that Muslims have a choice in relation to the Palestinian crisis. "Peace over violence, unity over division, reconsiliations over aggressions, love over hatred, justice over injustice and excellence over mediocrity." 

The national Imam of the Shia community in Ghana Sheikh Kamal- Aldin condemned the act by the Israelis. He called on Iran as a regional power to continue to use its soft power, the UN, OIC, and another level to excerpt pressure on the zionist regime to halt its systematized ethnic cleansing or racist tendency against the oppressed people of Palestine. He states that Palestinians are equally human beings and must attain total independence from this zionist apartheid. 

The ambassador of Palestine to Ghana Abdul fatah A. K. Alsattari explains what Quds Day means and its importance to the Muslim ummah around the globe. 

"Quds Day, officially known as International Quds Day, means Jerusalem day and its an annual pro-Palestinian event held on the last Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan to express support for Palestinians and oppose Israel and Zionism after they occupy it in 1967." 

He assures by Allah's name that Palestine will be free again and very soon. 

The event was graced by the Iran ambassador to Ghana Bijan Gerami Nazoksara, the editor of the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt, and some leaders.

The event which was held at the head of the Shia community in Ghana ended with a call for freedom for Palestine.
