Beirut (IP) - Iran says that if the US frankly seeks peace in the region must stop the war on Gaza and abandon support for the Israeli regime, said the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Iran PressAsia: Holding a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah BuHabib on Saturday evening, Iran's FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran and Lebanon stress the fact that war and extending warmongering is not the solution to the war on Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian noted that it is clear to the world's general public that the Israeli regime's over-4-month war on the Gaza Strip has had no achievements for the regime and its supporters.

Elsewhere, he highlighted the US double standard policy and said: "The US is moving simultaneously in two directions; first, sending arms to the Israeli regime and participating in the Israeli genocide of the Gazan people, and second, the US is at the same time talking about political solution."

"We clearly note that if the US is seeking peace in the region, it must stop the war and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank," he stressed.

Iran's Foreign Minister left Tehran for Beirut on Friday, as the first destination of his regional trip.

After Lebanon, Amir-Abdollahian is going to visit Syria and Qatar.
