Iran Press/Europe: ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan stated on Friday that the appeal was currently irrelevant but could potentially be addressed in future judicial stages.
Israeli sources revealed that on Wednesday, the Israeli government submitted two documents to the ICC's Appeals Chamber, contesting the arrest warrants.
In the first document, a 14-page submission, Israel challenges the authority of the ICC's Pre-Trial Chamber to handle the case and issue warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant. The second document, spanning 13 pages, protests the ICC's refusal to refer the case back to Israeli jurisdiction.
According to the Israeli news site Ynet, Israel has requested the suspension of the arrest warrants, expressing hope that the ICC will reconsider its stance.
On Thursday, November 21, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant on charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and using starvation as a weapon against civilians in Gaza. These charges stem from alleged atrocities committed during the recent conflict in the region.
The move has heightened tensions between Israel and the international community, with the ICC's actions marking a significant step in holding political and military leaders accountable for alleged violations of international law.
