Zahedan (IP) - Huge kaleidoscopes of colourful butterflies have delighted the people of Zahedan, the provincial capital of Sistan-Balouchestan province in southeastern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: The people of Zahedan often stop in their tracks when they see huge clouds of butterflies flying over their city, according to Iran press.

The colourful butterflies are quite a sight. The scientific name for this particular species of butterfly is "Vanessa Cardui". In Persian it is called "Rangin Banou" and it is one of the most abundant and common type of Buterfly in the world.

Swarms of butterflies, numbering in their millions, have been flitting throughout the air in different Iranian cities after the heavy downpours and floods last March and April. The Butterflies have put on an amazing show for locals and have delighted people in different cities. This natural phenomenon is linked to the recent heavy rainfall in Iran. 101/211
