Iran Press/ West Asia: The Israeli regime's warplanes bombed the central command of Hezbollah in Beirut's southern part on Friday night after Hezbollah held the funeral ceremony for the commander martyred in the regime's raids.
The group said in a statement:
His eminence, the master of resistance, the righteous servant, has passed away to be with his lord who is pleased with him as a great martyr.
The leadership of Hezbollah pledges ... to continue its jihad in confronting the enemy [Israel], supporting Gaza and Palestine, and defending Lebanon and its steadfast and honorable people.
Hezbollah added it would continue its fight against Israel.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was born on August 31, 1960, in the town of Al-Bazurieh in the poor neighborhoods of East Tire in southern Lebanon.
At the age of 16, he went to the city of Najaf in Iraq for seminary studies, and after staying and studying in this city for 2 years, he returned to Lebanon again.
In 1989, Nasrallah went to Qom to complete seminary courses, but after a year, due to the intensity of tensions in Lebanon, he returned to Beirut at the request of the Hezbollah Council.
Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah was active in Hezbollah from the beginning of its formation.
After the assassination of Seyyed Abbas Mousavi by Israeli helicopters on February 16, 1992 (27 Bahman 1370), with the consensus of Hezbollah's decision-making council, Hassan Nasrallah was elected as the Secretary General of Hezbollah.
Hezbollah's victory in driving Israel out of southern Lebanon and the martyrdom of Nasrallah's son in the war in 1997 made Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah popular in southern Lebanon.
