Iran Press/Iran News: "The very painful tragedy of the blast in Beirut, Lebanon, which resulted in the death, injury, and disappearance of some Lebanese citizens, caused great grief to all Muslims, especially the people of Iran," Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said in his message on Wednesday.
"Undoubtedly, the financial and spiritual damages caused by this tragedy and the damages that followed will remain for the dear people of Lebanon for many years to come, and there will be various economic, political, and social damages for this country," he added.
The head of the Assembly of Experts noted: "I would like to express my condolences to the survivors and pray for the health and healing of the injured in this tragic incident and call on the Islamic countries and the revolutionary officials and institutions of our country to work together to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the Lebanese people and the government."
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced the sending of a field hospital and medicine to help Lebanon in the disaster of Tuesday's explosion in Beirut, emphasizing that Iran stands by Lebanon.
A massive explosion in the port of Beirut killed at least 70 people and injured nearly 4000 others.
Lebanon's Prime Minister Hassan Diab Tuesday called on "friendly countries" to support the country already reeling from its worst economic crisis in decades as well as the coronavirus pandemic.
