Iran Press/ Iran news: Swedish security forces arrested Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen, on November 9, 2019, upon his arrival in the country.
The Swedish prosecution accused Hamid Nouri of involvement in alleged executions that took place 34 years ago in Iran and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The majority of plaintiffs were members of MKO, a terrorist group.
The Swedish Court of Appeal upheld the Stockholm District Court's verdict, sentencing Hamid Nouri to life imprisonment for charges related to "violation of international law and murder."
Zohreh Elahian, head of the Parliament's Human Rights Committee, condemned the Swedish Court of Appeal's verdict for Nouri and stated that his family has the right to lodge a complaint against the Swedish judicial system in international forums and pursue the case through the International Criminal Court.
