Tehran (IP) - Hamid Nouri, an Iranian national and former judiciary official who was illegally imprisoned in a jail in Sweden since 2019, after being released from jail in a prisoner swap arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening.

Iran PressIran news: Hamid Nouri upon his arrival at Tehran airport was welcomed by Kazem Gharibabadi, Secretary General of Iran's High Council for Human Rights.

Nouri and Gharibabadi talk for minutes in the presence of the reporters.

In November 2019, Nouri was detained while arriving at Stockholm Airport and was subsequently taken into custody.

Nouri was prosecuted based on claims made by the MKO terrorist group members against the Islamic Republic of Iran Judiciary.

He has been held in solitary confinement for over two years. Swedish prosecutors have requested the maximum penalty of life imprisonment for the former Iranian judiciary official, falsely accusing him of prisoner abuse in the 1980s.
