Latest developments on possible Israeli invasion on Rafah

Hamas also called on the international community to take urgent action to stop Israel’s planned incursion, saying it threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of defenseless civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

Palestinian groups have intensified their attacks on Israeli targets over the past day as the army prepares for an operation in overcrowded Rafah in southern Gaza.

In the past 24 hours, at least 4 Israeli forces were killed and 28 others injured.

On Sunday a barrage of rockets was launched by the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas killed 4 soldiers and left at least 11 injured.

Concerns for the Israeli invasion of Rafah are growing after Israel ordered people to move out of eastern Rafah as fears of a full-blown military assault on the city sheltering more than one million displaced people grow.

Israel’s evacuation orders in Rafah ‘unacceptable’

 EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell says in a post on X that Israel must implement UN Security Council Resolution 2728. The resolution adopted on March 25 demands an immediate ceasefire to the war in Gaza.

The EU, with the International Community, can and must act to prevent such a scenario.

Egypt raises preparedness in northern Sina

Reuters, citing security sources, reports that Egypt has raised its military’s level of preparedness in northern Sinai, which borders the Gaza Strip after Israel announced its military operation in Rafah.

Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa TV reported that the Israeli army carried out air raids in the neighborhoods that received evacuation orders.

Hezbollah and the Israeli military have traded fire, with Israeli jets striking 15 buildings and infrastructure of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force at a compound in southern Lebanon and a Hezbollah drone striking near Israel’s Metula.

Al-Quds Brigades says fighters sniped Israeli soldier

Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, has said its fighters sniped an Israeli soldier east of the Shujayea neighborhood in Gaza City.

In a statement on X, the group also said its fighters bombed and struck a group of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the so-called Netzarim Corridor with heavy-caliber mortar shells.

At least 34,735 people have been killed and 78,108 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
