IP - The Hamas delegation headed by the senior official 'Khalil al-Hayya' reportedly arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo for participation in indirect talks on the Gaza ceasefire.

Iran PressAfrica: As Hamas earlier said its delegation would not attend Gaza ceasefire talks in the Egyptian capital.

Hamas delegation will talk with Egyptian officials on the latest talks with mediation of Qatar and Egypt on a deal to exchange Israeli captives held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners.

“The delegation will meet with senior Egyptian intelligence officials to be briefed on developments in the ongoing round of Gaza ceasefire talks, but this does not mean it will take part in the negotiations,” a Hamas official told AFP under the condition of anonymity.

This visit comes two days after an Israeli security delegation and a US team arrived in Cairo.

CIA chief William Burns was among US officials taking part in the discussions in Cairo, joining the heads of Israel's spy agency and security service.

"There has been progress made. We need now for both sides to come together and work towards implementation," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said while on Saturday morning more than 40 gazan killed and several others injured in Israeli continued criminal aggressions.
