Peshawar (IP) - On Thursday, armed assailants targeted passenger vehicles in the Kurram district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in twenty-five fatalities and twenty-six injuries.

Iran PressAsia: Police reported that passenger vehicles in a convoy traveling from Parachinar to Peshawar were attacked, resulting in the deaths of 25 individuals, including a woman, and injuries to 26 others. Sources informed Iran Press that the death toll and injuries are likely to rise due to the worsening condition of the injured.

The vehicles were attacked with automatic weapons, and the passengers' belongings were looted while traveling from Parachinar to Peshawar under the protection of security forces.

The Parachinar region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has long been plagued by sectarian violence. Reports indicate that the passengers targeted in this terrorist act were Shia Muslims.
