Tehran (IP) - The Guardian Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran removed a major obstacle to the trade of livestock products between Iran and China.

Iran Press/ Iran News: Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaie, the spokesman for the Council of Guardians, in his weekly press conference on Saturday 28 September 2019, said the Guardian Council has approved the agreement signed by Iran and China with regards to healthcare and animal quarantine.

The Iranian parliament (Majlis) endorsed the bill on Sunday, 1st September 2019, with more than two-thirds of parliamentarians attending the session. 

Prior to the adoption of the bill, more than 60 Iranian companies had been exporting their livestock products to China indirectly, through third countries such as Vietnam.

Most of Iran's livestock products exported to China include items such as chicken feet and seafood, especially non-Halal aquatics. 101/211/219
